A TreeTop Retreat
A renovation that combines Mid-Century modern forms with eclectic details, using a rich, warm palette, natural materials and a built-in environment to create a cozy, all-inclusive experience. The home will bring in lots of natural light, emphasizing the enchanting view of the surrounding forest. Additionally, due to the sloping of the land behind the home, the deck will act as an extension of the great room, fully equipped to entertain without ever stepping onto the ground. Overall, the home will communicate a sense of luxury, ease and playfulness, allowing the Gibson's to fully immerse themselves in creating memorable family moments.

The ENTRY (8ft ceiling) provides a cozy, private space where inhabitants can comfortably leave their coats in the built-in coat closet, which has additional shelving for shoes and bags. The laundry is conveintly close by (left side) in the event items are wet or muddy.
The GREAT ROOM (9ft ceiling) uses an open floor plan to create an inclusive space. Whether in the Kitchen, in front of the fireplace, or enjoying a book in the cushioned nooks of the built-in bookcase, everyone in the room will feel connected to the day’s activities. Large windows and skylights bring in plenty of light and views of the surrounding forest, giving the illusion of being suspended in air, as if in a treehouse. The use of natural wood for the cabinetry, the faux beams on the ceiling, and select furniture pieces will add to an outdoors effect.

The HALLWAY (3ft wide, 8ft ceiling) is mainly intended for passage to and from the bedrooms. However, with the added bookcase, skylights, as well as the window at the end on the hall with a built-in cushioned seat with storage (identical to the ones on the bookcase), this design can maximize storage, provide additional storage, and work to keep the space feeling open and full of light.
In the KITCHEN (9ft ceiling), a tiled hood is the focal point, placed directly across from the fireplace, made of the same material. The Oxblood clay continues to wrap around the space from the backsplash, allowing the kitchen to feel cohesive with the rest of the room. The custom cabinetry provides a variety of shelving options, ope and closed, as well as a pantry that holds more than just food. The top of the pantry provides an open shelving option, while the bottom drops open to reveal a hidden trash compartment.

All BATHROOMS (8ft ceilings) use the Oxblood clay tile on the floors, walls and countertops to simulate a luxurious spa vibe. The bathtub and shower locations use the tile from floor to ceiling, creating a bold and dramatic bathing experience. The use of this tile throughout the entirety of the home will contribute to the feel of a cohesive singular experience, as opposed to separate conversations being had at once. In the MASTER BATH, the window above the tube is a daring choice, but allows inhabitants to bath alongside the trees outside, with plenty of light and privacy provided by the surrounding foliage.
All BEDROOMS (8ft ceilings) are provided with a closet system equipped with cabinets, open and closed shelving, and drawers to be used as pleased. The variety and abundance allows for flexibility for whatever type of getaway the inhabitants would like to have, whether its an activity heavy weekend, or relaxing stay with additional guests.
However, the MASTER BEDROOM walk-in closet has a similar structure, but with 3x the space, maximizing convenience and exclusivity.
